My loathing of InfoWars, without question the most often quoted source of fake news and conspiracy theory garbage on the internet, is well known. All of the offshoot, wannabe websites it has spawned are also frequent targets of my disdain, such as RedFlagNews, DCClothesline, and virtually any internet “alternative news media” site that includes the word “Patriot” or “Freedom” in their title. But, today, InfoWars won the Ross Lotto and was chosen as the target of my disgust. Not just InfoWars and Alex Jones, but also the emerging “Tools” who have joined the Jones cult and are attempting to lend credibility to the world of nuts without berries.
Namely, Joe Biggs. I don’t know if that is his real name, but he goes by the title of Staff Sergeant Joe Biggs, or SSG Joe Biggs, a supposedly former Army NCO and War on Terror veteran. He thinks he is quite the warrior, I suppose, since his Twitter handle is @RamboBiggs. (He follows my Twitter feed. I assume he will be upset by this post.)

Biggs came to fame immediately following the death of journalist Michael Hastings when he made the rounds of both legitimate news organizations and conspiratard websites claiming to have “insider” information about how Hastings was murdered because he had planned to expose “something big.” He was interviewed multiple times by Alex Jones but I guess that wasn’t enough. Biggs now works for the InfoWars organization and lists himself as an Investigative Journalist. Putting veterans to work is a noble effort, so let’s take a moment to applaud Alex Jones in this endeavor.
Okay, that’s enough.
Here is why Biggs has achieved the “Tool” label from The Elder Statesman – he knows for a fact that what he is saying is not true. Now, I can cut someone some slack if they are misguided, ignorant, or just plain stupid and allow themselves to get caught up in a load of BS from a skilled con artist. Unfortunately, that isn’t what happened here.
Below is an embedded InfoWars segment titled, “Army Trains To Combat Black Americans.” The title alone should convince you that what you are about to see is utter nonsense, but, if you have 30 minutes to spare, you should watch the video. The first 16 minutes of the video is Jones himself tossing around a variety of fake news stories about FEMA camps, gun confiscation, and other nonsense, so if you want to get right to the “oppression of the poor black folk” portion of the video, skip to about the 16 minute mark. At this point, Jones brings in his resident “Expert” Joe Biggs.
Now we get into the meat of the issue. You know, now that Biggs is on the scene. He explains that, oh my God, these are Active Duty Army units that are training for civil unrest. He and Jones also point out that these are WHITE soldiers detaining BLACK role-players.
Speaking of the role-players, Jones chimes in with, “And if you watch longer, they’re all black. Look, you’ve got black guys right there.” Biggs replies with a chuckle, “Yeah, they’re the only ones who turn over cars and riot, apparently.”
As the video plays, you clearly see black soldiers and black police officers involved in this training and not all of the role-playing rioters are black. In fact, as Biggs makes the chuckling statement about all the rioters being black, he is standing in front of a video screen that clearly shows two rioters setting a car ablaze. Neither of those two role-players are black.
Jones and Biggs are convinced, and I am sure they would love to convince you, that the military is training for the implementation of Martial Law on every street of every city in our nation. So, where does the “Tool” part come in? You mean that isn’t enough? Okay, fine. Here.
If Biggs is what he claims to be, a former Army NCO at the rank of SSG, he went through this training himself. We all did. Pretty much everyone who trained prior to a deployment received training in riot control and civil unrest. If you happen to be a Military Police School graduate, you probably went through multiple sessions on this topic. Oddly, he makes no mention of it in his appearance on the InfoWars broadcast. He knows for a fact that the U.S. Military has no such training evolution designed to confiscate firearms, oppress a certain group of citizens, or place them in FEMA camps. He knows it. And yet, here he is promoting the idea in order to gin up fear and hatred toward our fellow citizens.
I suspect Biggs found a niche in the realm of media, took to it, and was embraced by his cult leader Jones who encouraged him to just start making shit up instead of doing that investigative journalist thing. So, Biggs found a cool job and will make a living lying to people. He should have considered a career in politics.
I will say that I am very impressed with the production quality of the InfoWars programs. They have come a long way in the last decade and they obviously have some very talented people working behind the scenes. Imagine what they could accomplish if they weren’t just making up fake news stories to scare people into buying their DVDs and making Jones one of the hated 2%ers he likes to rail against.
